We would be delighted if you could join us for the official Launch of the Global Framework for Youth Mental Health – Investing in Future Mental Capital for Individuals, Communities and Economies, developed in partnership between Orygen in Australia and the World Economic Forum.

In 2019 the World Economic Forum prioritised the need for action on mental health, and identified youth mental health and early intervention as key areas for impactful change.  They partnered with Orygen, the world-leading youth mental health research and clinical translation centre, to develop a Global Youth Mental Health Framework to support and guide local implementation of youth mental health care in any resource setting or country.

The event will include the official launch of the framework by the Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Daniel Andrews; Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF; Lee Howell, Managing Director, World Economic Forum; and Pat McGorry, Executive Director, Orygen. It will feature a discussion led by two youth consultants on the project, Nataya Brandjerdporn and Maddison O’Gradey-Lee, who will guide a panel of young people from around the world in a conversation about how the framework will impact young people, their mental health, their communities and economies. The panel includes members of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers community.

The Global Framework for Youth Mental Health launch will be broadcast live from 9:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Wednesday 27th May 2020.  You will be able to check the event time in your own time zone at registration.

Registration is essential and can be completed here.  You’ll receive a unique link to join the webinar in your confirmation email.

The full report and additional documentation can be downloaded here from 27 May 2020.

Any questions can be sent through to us at globalymh@orygen.org.au and please pass these details on to any colleagues, friends or family you think may be interested in the event.
