| Rocío Mayol Rocío Mayol, PhD is a clinical psychologist expert in early detection and intervention of severe psychiatric illnesses. Dr. Mayol is affiliated with the Faculty of Psychology of the Alberto Hurtado University and is director of the Translational Psychiatry laboratory of the University Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Chile, and he also belongs to the Psychosis Unit of the University of Chile. She acts as a young researcher for the “Millennium Nucleus for the Improvement of the Mental Health of Adolescents and Young People” (IMHAY). She obtained a grant as a principal investigator of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (Fondecyt). Dr. Mayol’s line of research is electrophysiological indicators of risk in the early stages of psychotic disorders, and she is also interested in the development of early psychotherapeutic interventions for serious mental illness. Dr. Mayol successfully organized a Spanish-language meeting at IEPA 2023 and is promoting the Spanish-speaking branch of IEPA. In Chile she has a very important space for scientific dissemination (@cientificamente_mujeres), where she actively works to reduce the gender gap and promote scientific development. Her unique leadership and group skills make her an ideal candidate for the position of Vice President of Central and South America. |
