| Larry J. Seidman Award Following his death in 2017 the board of the IEPA created the Larry Seidman Award to honour Dr. Lawrence J. Seidman, an eminent neuropsychologist and Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The Larry Seidman Award recognises exceptional achievement in mentorship and advocacy on behalf of researchers and/or clinicians at an early career stage.Dr. Seidman was a leader in the area of early intervention and prevention of serious mental illness. His work was instrumental in the development of innovative clinical services for early course psychotic disorder patients, as well as for those at clinical high risk for these illnesses in Massachusetts. He was an astute clinician, and a highly sought-after teacher and mentor. Scores of scientists and clinicians around the world owe their accomplishments to his tutelage. Many of his mentees are leading scientists, professors or department heads around the world. Past Larry J. The Angelo Cocchi Award recognises the significance of translating research into real-world applications and the impact it has on society by an individual (researcher/ clinician) or a team. | Richard J. Wyatt Award The Richard J. Wyatt Award is awarded every two years at the IEPA Biennial Conference. | IEPA Lived Experience Award The IEPA Lived Experience Award honours an individual whose lived or living experience of mental ill-health informs and drives their leadership in advancing early intervention. Their work exemplifies the meaningful application of lived expertise to create change; through authentic partnerships and co-produced research, prevention, policy, advocacy, education, service design, or clinical practice. Recipients demonstrate ethical, culturally safe, and inclusive engagement, achieving tangible improvements in access, equity, quality, or outcomes for young people and their communities. |
| IEPA Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) Research Excellence Award The IEPA Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) Research Excellence Award honours researchers and clinicians from LMICs who have achieved outstanding advances in early intervention in mental health within LMIC contexts. Recipients demonstrate rigorous, impactful research that improves access, equity, and outcomes, and often builds local capacity through collaboration, training, and implementation in real-world settings. |
