Meet the speaker: Nev Jones

#IEPA11 Beyond the Clinic: Re-imagining Early Intervention through the Lens of Structural Competency and Co-Production

Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Law & Policy, University of South Florida & Clinical Assistant Professor, Yale University School of Medicine, Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH).

Dr. Nev Jones is a community psychologist and mental health services researcher whose work on youth and young adult mental health has spanned government, the non-profit sector and academia.

She is currently a Switzer Research Fellow (National Institute of Disability, Independently Living & Rehabilitation Research) focused on the long-term outcomes of young adults discharged from specialized early psychosis services, and co-leads a federally funded project aimed at developing a national early psychosis stakeholder research involvement network in the United States.

A ‘graduate’ of specialized early intervention in psychosis services, Dr. Jones has championed engaged, mixed methods research focused on the structural and sociocultural determinants of distress, disability and recovery, the perspectives of under-represented, culturally heterogeneous stakeholders, and the reconceptualization and rethinking of effective support, intervention and community integration.
